Who says a winter wedding needs sunshine?
This December wedding was everything but sunny - overcast skies, windswept hair, and clouds rolling in. But none of that mattered. The warmth came from Rebeca and João — from their joy, their connection, their constant smiles and emotional hugs. It was the kind of day that fills a space with love, no matter the weather.
Also? There were sunflowers. In December. And yes, it totally worked.
A city wedding full of heart
On a crisp December day in Amsterdam, Rebeca and João exchanged vows surrounded by the warmth of family who traveled all the way from Brazil. The ceremony at the Stadsdeelkantoor in Amsterdam West followed all the usual formalities — but it was so full of spirit. Their excitement, their families' energy, the laughter — it turned a quiet city hall into a joyful celebration.
Sunflowers… in December?
When Rebeca told me she wanted sunflowers for her wedding, my first thought was, “But how?!
And yet, there they were — bright, joyful, and full of warmth, just like her.
Even more special? Her mom brought sunflower-shaped sweets all the way from Brazil — a sweet personal touch that made the day even more meaningful. Proof that love — and a determined mother — always find a way. 💛
The kind of day I love to capture
It wasn’t about perfect lighting or polished timelines. It was about emotion. It was about style that meant something, laughter that came from the belly, and tiny, beautiful moments unfolding naturally.
Their wedding reminded me that the best love stories aren’t curated — they’re lived.
