Sometimes, a wedding day is so packed with moments, emotions, and logistics that there’s simply no time to step away for those quiet, intimate couple portraits. Or maybe as newlyweds you prefer to spend your wedding day enjoying the company of your guests. That’s exactly what happened with Carolina and Victor. They got married in September 2024, but when we met again in May 2025 for a post-wedding photoshoot in Utrecht, the atmosphere was completely different. The nerves were gone. The session was relaxed, unhurried, and filled with stories about their wedding, their engagement, and their favorite places in the city.
Carolina and Victor chose Utrecht because it’s a city that means something to them. They met here for the first time and later got engaged in front of the Domtoren in 2020, but back then, they didn’t have beautiful photos to remember that day. This post-wedding shoot gave them the chance to relive that moment, to walk through the same streets, but this time, with images that truly captured their story.

For the session, Carolina wore her bridal jumpsuit with delicate detachable sleeves, giving it a floaty, romantic look. I was surprised how much this detail added to the bridal look and it was a comfortable, modern choice that suited the relaxed, city vibe we were going for.
What I loved about this post-wedding love shoot is how personal and genuine it felt. As we wandered, they told me about their engagement day, laughed, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. There was no rush, no pressure, just a quiet space to reconnect and create something meaningful.
We started around 9 AM on a Sunday, and even then, the streets were already getting busy.
If you want a peaceful, quiet atmosphere and space to create intimate portraits without large crowds, I recommend starting around 6 AM. It might sound early, but the light is magical, especially in spring and summer, and you’ll have the city almost to yourself.
