One year after documenting her spring maternity session, I met Lale and her baby boy in a quiet park in Nieuw-Vennep to celebrate his very first milestone. As an Amsterdam family & maternity photographer, I love showing parents that you don't need a complicated destination to create a sense of wonder. I arrived at the park pulling a cart stacked with a miniature canvas teepee tent, lanterns, woven blankets, and plush toys to transform a green corner into a custom playground. The setups I use feature a gender neutral palette of creams, soft beiges, and oranges, greens and blues on purpose so it can adapt to many occasions and not take the focus away from the little heroes in front of my lens.
While the custom decor provided a whimsical backdrop, the true heartbeat of the gallery lies in the honest, unscripted connection of their daily love. Watching him crawl through the grass and collapse into her lap with total safety showed the beautiful bond they’ve built over the last twelve months.
